Burnham Yacht Harbour
The Yacht Harbour in Burnham-On-Crouch has been a major feature of this well-known sailing town since its construction in 1989. With all the services you would expect at a premier marina.
BYH at a Glance
350 Finger Berths
There are 350 finger berths catering for vessels ranging in length from 7m to 14m and substantial lateral berthing for larger vessels and visitors.
High Quality Pontoons
The pontoon system is in excellent condition and we ensure it remains so by undertaking a rolling maintenance program.
Storage Ashore
There are two large areas for storage ashore near the main block and adjacent to the marina basins. Priority in space allocation is given to our annual resident pontoon berth-holders.
Ablution
We have an ablution block which is adjacent to the main basin.
Full Service Boatyard
Our boatyard caters for the majority of vessels up to 16.5′ (5m) beam and up to 60′ (18m) length. The travel hoist accomodated up to 35 tonn vessels.
Water & Electricity
All berths have access to water and electricity.
Harbourmaster
The Harbourmasters will be happy to help out with your lines, arrange diesel, or give advice on local sailing and the general surroundings.
Swallowtail Restaurant
Our restaurant on-site caters for most tastes and holds regular entertainment events. Visit: www.swallowtailrestaurant.co.uk
Diesel Berth
We have a diesel station on site, contact the Harbourmaster for refueling and current pricing.
Directions
FROM THE RIVER CROUCH ENTRANCE
Useful Charts to use are:
AC5607, 1183, 1975, 3750, Imray C1 Y17. Refer to Reeds Almanac for information on tidal differences height and time. The Standard Port is Walton On The Naze.
Navigation – S Buxey SHM lit buoy – approach from the East Swin or the Wallet via the Spitway and N Swallow SWM into the Whitaker channel.
The Whitaker channel and the river are lit/buoyed to 0.5M west of Essex Marina.
From Sunken Buxey NCM lit buoy, the spire of St Mary’s Church (difficult to identify) leads 233o to Outer Crouch SCM lit buoy; thence steer steer 24oo past Foulness Pt into the river. There is a 2.2M unlit gap between Inner Crouch SWM lit buoy and the Horse Shoal NCM lit buoy.
There after follow the buoyed channel to Green SHM No11 (FlQ G), turn to starboard for the Yellow entrance marker (FlY5s) to Burnham Yacht Harbour.
VHF Channel 80 – Note the speed limit in the mooring trots is 8 knots
