Walks & Country Park
Burnham Yacht Harbour is located right on one of the coastal walk routes, a haven for wildlife. If you walk along the river to the East you will find a small beach and accesss to the Riverside Park with children’s play areas. A lovely experience for children and adults to share fun, water and wildlife and make memories.
Burnham-On-Crouch Golf Club
Our local Gold Club is a twenty minute walk from the harbour. It has an 18 hole, par 70 course, set in 120 acres of open countryside with panoramic views of the River Crouch and South Essex from all parts of the course, which offers a challenging round to players of all abilities.
Burnham-On-Crouch & District Museum
As a former Oyster Port, Burnham-On-Crouch has an interesting history which is displayed at our local museum, a short walk along the river path East from the harbour. With local finds and exhibits from the stone age to the present day covering fishing, the oyster fishery, farming, boat building and the local iron foundry. The collection is displayed over two floors in a former boat builder’s premisis built around 1910 overlooking the Quay.
Mangapps Railway & Museum
On the outskirts of the town, a couple of miles from the harbour, is Mangapps Railway & Museum. Trains run from February to October with Santa Specials at the weekends in December.
Wrekin Farm Shop
This local farm shop offers the best quality, locally sourced meat, their own pies, sausages and smoked fish, local produce, pafraits, and convenient ready meals as well as other farm shop treats.

Visit London
Direct trains to London Liverpool Street run regularly from Burnham-On-Crouch Station and take 1 hour, giving you easy access to everything the capital has to offer.
PILOTAGE NOTES FROM THE RIVER CROUCH ENTRANCE
Useful Charts to use are:
AC5607, 1183, 1975, 3750, Imray C1 Y17. Refer to Reeds Almanac for information on tidal differences height and time. The Standard Port is Walton On The Naze.
Navigation – S Buxey SHM lit buoy – approach from the East Swin or the Wallet via the Spitway and N Swallow SWM into the Whitaker channel.
The Whitaker channel and the river are lit/buoyed to 0.5M west of Essex Marina.
From Sunken Buxey NCM lit buoy, the spire of St Mary’s Church (difficult to identify) leads 233o to Outer Crouch SCM lit buoy; thence steer steer 24oo past Foulness Pt into the river. There is a 2.2M unlit gap between Inner Crouch SWM lit buoy and the Horse Shoal NCM lit buoy.
There after follow the buoyed channel to Green SHM No11 (FlQ G), turn to starboard for the Yellow entrance marker (FlY5s) to Burnham Yacht Harbour.
VHF Channel 80 – Note the speed limit in the mooring trots is 8 knots
