The Tucker Brown Cup was held this year on Saturday 30th September 2017 and it was a huge success. The weather was good with light airs and enough southerly wind to avoid lots of tacking.
The bbq lunch and drinks were served in the marquee by BYH and Swallowtail staff. The bbq was a great hit, catering for all dietary requirements and the ice-cream cornets were very popular served with various sprinkles and cocktail umbrellas. Once again we were extremely lucky to be entertained by our favourite band “Streetlife”, they get better every year.
Highlight of the day was the presentation of prizes by Annie Hemingway. The Tucker Brown Cup and bbq were the brainchild of Annie and Mike over twenty years ago and it was wonderful that she could come along and join in the fun.
The winners of the three racing classes were:-
Class 1 – “Aegir”
Class 2 – “Jeannie”
Class 3 – “Grace & Danger” – the winner of the Tucker Brown Cup.
The Predicted Log competition was won by “Grey Lady” and the crew were presented with the Volspec Challenge shield and the Mike Hemingway cup was won by “Seabeagle”.
The whole event was very successful and it was a brilliant opportunity for us all to get together and have lots of fun.
